of <h1>Central Government Approves Biotech Special Economic Zone in Andhra Pradesh under SEZ Act 2005, Effective August 13, 2010.</h1> The Central Government has approved the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for biotech and related activities at Village Muppireddipally, Mandal Toopran, District Medak, Andhra Pradesh, proposed by a private organization. The approval was granted under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, with a letter of approval issued on July 22, 2010. The SEZ covers an area of 10.12 hectares. An Approval Committee, comprising various government officials and a representative from the developing organization, has been constituted to oversee the SEZ. The SEZ is designated as an Inland Container Depot effective August 13, 2010.
