of <h1>Amendment to Cost Inflation Index for 2010-2011: New Index Set at 711 Under Section 48 of Income-tax Act.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. S.O. 2292(E) dated September 9, 2009, concerning the Cost Inflation Index for the fiscal year 2010-2011. This amendment, issued under the authority of clause (v) of the Explanation to section 48 of the Income-tax Act, 1961, introduces a new entry in the existing table. The new serial number 30 specifies the Cost Inflation Index for the year 2010-2011 as 711. This amendment is documented in Notification No. 59/2010, dated July 21, 2010.
