<h1>Government Denotifies 12.141-Hectare SEZ in Ernakulam, Kerala; Biotechnology Zone Status Rescinded Under SEZ Act, 2005</h1> The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has denotified a 12.141-hectare area in Village Thrikkakara North, Taluk Kanayannur, District Ernakulam, Kerala, initially designated as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for the biotechnology sector. This decision follows a proposal by M/s. TCG Urban Infrastructure Holdings Limited to rescind the SEZ status granted under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. The denotification was approved by the Central Government on February 19, 2010, effectively nullifying the earlier notifications from May 12, 2009, while preserving any actions taken prior to this rescission.
