This project includes initiatives such as medical camps in rural areas, employment creation for leprosy-affected individuals, educational support for children of leprosy-affected families, and health education to reduce social stigma. Initially approved in 1996, the project has been extended multiple times and is now approved for an additional two years starting from the financial year 2006-2007, with an increased project cost from Rs. 26.97 lakhs to Rs. 40.00 lakhs.
