of <h1>Government Approves Biotech Special Economic Zone in Vadodara, Gujarat; Rescinded in May 2023.</h1> The Central Government has approved the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for the biotechnology sector at Biotech Park, Savli GIDC Estate, Village Manjusar, District Vadodara, Gujarat. The SEZ, proposed by Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, covers various survey numbers totaling 15.80 hectares. An Approval Committee has been constituted, comprising officials from the Ministry of Commerce, Customs, Income Tax, and the Government of Gujarat, among others. The SEZ will be considered an Inland Container Depot under the Customs Act from October 27, 2009. This notification was later rescinded in May 2023.
