of <h1>Central Government Approves Biotechnology SEZ at Genome Valley, Andhra Pradesh; Designated Inland Container Depot from Oct 20, 2009</h1> The Central Government has approved the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for the biotechnology sector at Genome Valley, Village Lalgadi Malakpet, Mandal Shameerpet, District Ranga Reddy, Andhra Pradesh. The SEZ spans 20.44 hectares and has been developed by Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited. An Approval Committee has been constituted, comprising various government officials and representatives, to oversee the SEZ's operations. The SEZ is also designated as an Inland Container Depot effective from October 20, 2009, under the Customs Act, 1962.
