India Withdraws Anti-Dumping Duty on Lead Acid Batteries from Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, and Singapore After Review
The anti-dumping duty on lead acid batteries imported from Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, and Singapore has been rescinded by the Central Government of India. Initially imposed in 2003 due to findings of material injury to the Indian industry from dumped imports, a review concluded that these imports are now above normal value and do not harm the domestic industry. Consequently, it was recommended to discontinue the anti-dumping duties, and the government has officially withdrawn the previous notification imposing these duties, effective immediately, except for actions completed before this rescission.
