of <h1>India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Polystyrene from Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and Taiwan to Protect Domestic Industry</h1> The Central Government of India has imposed an anti-dumping duty on polystyrene imported from Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, and Taiwan. This decision follows findings by the Designated Authority that these countries exported polystyrene to India at prices below normal value, causing material injury to the Indian domestic industry. The duty applies to General Purpose Polystyrene (GPPS) and High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS), excluding expansible polystyrene. Specific rates are set for different exporters and countries, effective retroactively from June 30, 1998. The duty aims to protect the domestic industry from unfair trade practices.
