India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Lovastatin from China to Protect Local Industry Until May 23, 1999
The Indian government imposed an anti-dumping duty on Lovastatin originating from or exported by the People's Republic of China. The Designated Authority determined that Lovastatin was being dumped in India at prices below its normal value, causing material injury to the Indian industry. The duty imposed is the difference between Rs. 1,91,869 per kg and the landed value per kg, capped at Rs. 73,944 per kg. This measure is effective until May 23, 1999. The 'landed value' includes all customs duties except those under specified sections of the Customs Tariff Act.
