<h1>Customs Notification Amended: Metcoke Imports by Specific Manufacturers Exempt if Rules 1996 Compliance Met</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 69/2000-Customs, dated May 19, 2000, under the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, and the Customs Act, 1962. This amendment specifies that the notification does not apply to imports of metcoke by manufacturers of pig iron or steel using a blast furnace, or those using COREX technology, or manufacturers of ferro alloys, provided they adhere to the Customs (Import of Goods at Concessional Rate of Duty for Manufacture of Excisable Goods) Rules, 1996. This change is deemed necessary in the public interest.
