of <h1>Project Import benefit extended to drinking water supply projects under Project Import Regulations, 1986 via Customs Act section 157</h1> Project Imports (Amendment) Regulations, 2002, issued under section 157 of the Customs Act, 1962, amend the Project Import Regulations, 1986, with effect from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. The amendment inserts a new Sr. No. 3A in the Table to include 'Drinking Water Supply Projects for supply of water for human or animal consumption' as eligible projects. The designated sponsoring authority for such projects is the Collector/District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner of the district where the project is located. The notification references the original 1986 regulations and their last amendment in 1997.
