of <h1>Government Approves IT and Electronic Hardware SEZ in Coimbatore; Overseen by Approval Committee Under SEZ Act 2005</h1> The Central Government has approved the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for Information Technology Enabled Services and Electronic Hardware at Kollupalayam Village, Arasur Panchayat, Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu. This approval, granted to a developer, covers an area of 20.43 hectares and is backed by the Special Economic Zone Act, 2005. An Approval Committee, comprising various government officials, has been constituted to oversee the SEZ. The SEZ is designated as an Inland Container Depot effective from July 8, 2009, under the Customs Act, 1962.
