of <h1>Government Approves Alumina and Aluminum SEZ in Visakhapatnam; Notified Under SEZ Act 2005 and Customs Act 1962</h1> The Central Government has approved the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for alumina and aluminum refining and related industries at APIIC Industrial Park in G. Koduru, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The SEZ, developed by a private organization, spans 280.72 acres and is officially notified under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. An Approval Committee, consisting of various government officials and a representative from the developer, has been constituted to oversee the SEZ. Additionally, the SEZ is designated as an Inland Container Depot effective from May 5, 2009, under the Customs Act, 1962.
