of <h1>Sudan Added to Duty-Free Tariff Preferences for Least Developed Countries Under Section 25(1) of Customs Act, 1962.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 96/2008-Customs, dated August 13, 2008, concerning duty-free tariff preferences for Least Developed Countries. As per Notification No. 45/2009-Customs, dated May 4, 2009, the Republic of The Sudan has been added to the list of countries eligible for duty-free tariff preferences. This amendment is made under the powers conferred by Section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, and is deemed necessary in the public interest. The principal notification was initially published on August 13, 2008, and last amended on March 20, 2009.
