of <h1>New IT and ITES Special Economic Zone Designated Effective May 4, 2009, Recognized Under Section 7 of Customs Act</h1> The Central Government has designated May 4, 2009, as the effective date for a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for Information Technology and IT Enabled Services at Mahadevpura and Kaggadaspura, K.R. Puram, Whitefield, Bangalore, Karnataka. This SEZ, developed by a private enterprise, is recognized as an Inland Container Depot under Section 7 of the Customs Act, 1962, as per the powers granted by the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005.
