<h1>India Updates Import Rules: License Required for VHF, UHF, Microwave Equipment per Schedule-I Amendment</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has amended Schedule-I (Imports) of the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items for 2004-09. This amendment, effective from March 2, 2009, specifies that certain radio communication equipment, including VHF, UHF, and microwave communication equipment, can only be imported with a license issued by the WPC wing of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. This amendment was made under the Foreign Trade Policy and the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, with no intended policy change for any item.
