of <h1>India Amends Import Policy: Antiques Over 100 Years Old and Antiquarian Books Now Classified as 'Free' Under ITC(HS).</h1> The Government of India has issued a notification amending the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items for the period 2004-09. Under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, and the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09, the import policy for antiques over 100 years old and antiquarian books is now classified as 'Free.' However, importers must comply with the export rules and laws of the country from which these items are imported. This amendment is issued in the public interest by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
