<h1>Ministry amends Anjar SEZ designation from 'Textile & Garments' to 'Engineering' under Special Economic Zones Act, 2005.</h1> The notification dated 12th March 2009, issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, amends the previous notification No. S.O.1559(E) from 17th September 2007 concerning a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Anjar, District Kutch, Gujarat. Initially designated for the 'Textile & Garments' sector, the SEZ, proposed by a company, has received approval to change its sector to 'Engineering.' This amendment follows the approval granted on 2nd July 2008, altering the original approval from 26th October 2006. The amendment is made under the powers conferred by the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and its rules.
