of <h1>Government Rescinds SEZ Notification for Textiles in Gujarat; Area to be De-notified as Engineering Zone</h1> The Central Government has rescinded the notification establishing a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for textiles and garments at Varshamedi, Taluka Anjar, District Kutch, Gujarat. Initially notified in 2007, the area was later reclassified to 'Engineering' in 2009. M/s. Welspun Anjar SEZ Limited proposed to de-notify the 109.59.07 hectares, receiving approval from the Central Government, the State Government of Gujarat, and the Development Commissioner of Kandla SEZ. The rescission is enacted under the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, maintaining any prior actions taken under the original notification.
