Composition of offences for dock work at major ports is assigned to designated labour officers under the safety code. Officers are appointed for the composition of offences under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 in relation to dock work at major ports. The Director General and the Deputy Director General of the Directorate General Factory Advice Service and Labour Institutes, Mumbai, are designated to exercise this function for all major ports. The notification assigns jurisdiction for offence composition purposes under the Code and limits the authority to dock work matters in the specified port areas.
