<h1>Amendment to Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009: Prohibited exports ineligible for DEPB credit, with transitional exceptions.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has amended the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) for 2004-2009 under Notification No. 87 (RE-2008). This amendment, issued on February 17, 2009, adds a clause to paragraph 4.3.1 of the FTP. It specifies that prohibited export items listed in the ITC(HS) Book will not qualify for DEPB credit, except for exports made under transitional facilities as per paragraph 1.5 of the FTP. This amendment is enacted under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, and is issued in the public interest.
