of <h1>Baggage Rules 2026 revise duty-free allowances and transfer-of-residence concessions, establish re-import rules and item exclusions.</h1> Notification replaces the earlier baggage rules and prescribes duty-free treatment, definitions, and procedural conditions for passengers. It allows used personal effects duty free, sets general duty-free value limits for residents and tourists arriving other than by land, prescribes special duty-free jewellery allowances, and permits re-import and temporary import on declaration subject to verification. Transfer of residence concessions with specified value thresholds and conditions are set out in Appendix-I and II with limited condonation powers for shortfalls. Rules address unaccompanied baggage timings, crew baggage limits, excluded items listed in Annexure-I, and household articles enumerated in Annexure-II.
