Customs tariff amendments extend and phase out certain exemptions, add items for solar, nuclear and aircraft supply chains
Amendments modify a prior customs exemption notification by omitting numerous tariff entries, inserting new tariff items, and extending temporal provisos for many exemptions from 31 March 2026 to later dates (mostly 31 March 2028; some to 31 March 2027 or 30 September 2035). New insertions cover monazite, rare earth compounds, specialty metals, components for solar photovoltaic and wind and aircraft manufacture, microwave oven parts, and nuclear power project goods. Condition No. 5's rate changes from 1% to 3%. Lists are expanded to add specified drugs and rare disease categories. Several entries will cease on specified future effective dates in April or May 2026.
