of <h1>SEBI amends Regulation 8(2) and adds 8(3) on deposit maintenance and lien for research analysts</h1> The Securities and Exchange Board of India has amended the Research Analysts Regulations, 2014, specifically substituting sub-regulation (2) of Regulation 8 to specify the form and manner of maintaining deposits as determined by the Board. A new sub-regulation (3) mandates that such deposits be marked as a lien in favor of a body recognized by the Board for administering and supervising research analysts. These deposits will be available for use if the research analyst fails to pay dues arising from arbitration or conciliation proceedings under the Board's specified dispute resolution mechanisms. The amendment is effective from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
