of <h1>New Customs Notification Sets Exchange Rates for Currency Conversion in Import/Export from January 1, 2009.</h1> Notification No. 140/2008-CUSTOMS (N.T.), dated December 29, 2008, issued by the Central Board of Excise and Customs, sets the exchange rates for converting specified foreign currencies into Indian rupees for import and export purposes, effective January 1, 2009. This notification supersedes the previous notification No. 130/2008-CUSTOMS (N.T.). The rates are detailed in two schedules, with Schedule I listing exchange rates for individual units of currencies like the US Dollar, Euro, and others, and Schedule II providing rates for 100 units of the Japanese Yen.
