<h1>Government Removes 8% Export Duty on Iron Ore Fines from December 2008, Affects Heading No. 11.</h1> The Central Government has withdrawn the 8% export duty on iron ore fines, effective from December 7, 2008. This exemption applies to iron ore fines classified under Heading No. 11 of the Second Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, when exported from India. The decision was made under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, as it was deemed necessary in the public interest. This notification was later rescinded by notification no. 145/2009 on December 24, 2009.
