of <h1>SEBI's Fifth Amendment to AIF Regulations 2024: New Pro-Rata Investor Rights and Differential Rights for Select Investors.</h1> The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has issued the Fifth Amendment to the Alternative Investment Funds Regulations, 2024. This amendment modifies the 2012 regulations, introducing changes to investor rights in alternative investment funds (AIFs). Specifically, investors will have pro-rata rights in investment schemes and proceeds distribution, unless specified otherwise by SEBI. The amendment also allows for differential rights for select investors without affecting others, except for Large Value Funds for Accredited Investors. Existing differential rights issued before this amendment will be addressed as per SEBI guidelines. The regulations take effect upon publication in the Official Gazette.
