India Updates Customs Routes with Bhutan; Ultapani-Sarpang Route Now Officially Recognized for Trade.

The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance's Department of Revenue, has issued Notification No. 71/2024-Customs (N.T.) to amend the Principal Notification No. 63/1994-Customs (N.T.). This amendment involves updating the land customs stations and routes for the import and export of goods between India and Bhutan. Specifically, the route from Ultapani via Saralpara and Naharani (SSB Camp) to Sarpang District in Bhutan has been officially notified as a recognized route for customs purposes. This change is enacted under the powers granted by the Customs Act, 1962.
