This decision follows a proposal by a private company and subsequent approval from the Maharashtra State Government. The de-notified land will be used to create infrastructure supporting the SEZ's original objectives. The Development Commissioner of SEEPZ SEZ recommended this de-notification, and the Central Government confirmed compliance with the relevant legal requirements under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005.
