<h1>Iron Ore Fines Exported from India Temporarily Exempt from Customs Duty Over 8% Ad Valorem</h1> Notification No. 116/2008-Cus, dated October 31, 2008, issued by the Central Government under the Customs Act, 1962, exempts iron ore fines classified under Heading No. 11 of the Second Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, from certain customs duties when exported from India. The exemption applies to the extent that the duty exceeds 8% ad valorem. This notification was later rescinded by Notification No. 131/2008 on December 7, 2008. The initial duty rate of Rs. 200 per tonne was replaced with the 8% ad valorem rate by Notification No. 121/2008 on November 7, 2008.
