of <h1>Central Govt amends excise duties: Hikes petroleum crude to Rs. 10,000/tonne, cuts ATF export to Rs. 3.50/litre. Effective Sept 16.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 18/2022-Central Excise, increasing the Special Additional Excise Duty on the production of petroleum crude to Rs. 10,000 per tonne and reducing the duty on the export of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) to Rs. 3.50 per litre. These changes, made under the authority of the Central Excise Act, 1944, and the Finance Act, 2002, are deemed necessary for public interest and will take effect on September 16, 2023. This amendment follows the previous modification made on September 1, 2023.
