of <h1>Govt Amends Excise Duties: Cuts SAED on Petroleum Crude, Hikes Duty on ATF Exports Effective Sept 2, 2023.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 18/2022-Central Excise to adjust duties related to petroleum products. Effective September 2, 2023, the Special Additional Excise Duty (SAED) on petroleum crude production is reduced to Rs. 6,700 per tonne. Additionally, the duty on the export of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) is increased to Rs. 4 per litre. These changes are enacted under the authority of the Central Excise Act, 1944, and the Finance Act, 2002, aiming to align with public interest considerations.
