of <h1>Finance Ministry Reallocates Jurisdiction Among Authorities Under SAFEMA and Benami Property Acts, Notification No. 04 of 2023.</h1> The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, has issued Notification No. 04 of 2023, superseding a previous notification from July 2021. This notification reallocates jurisdiction among Competent Authorities under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act. The jurisdictions are divided as follows: Kolkata for cases from Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Patna, Guwahati; Chennai for Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Hyderabad; New Delhi for Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kanpur; and Mumbai for Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Surat, Pune, Nagpur, Panaji, Bhopal, Raipur. These authorities will also handle cases under the Prohibition of Benami Property Transactions Act, 1988.
