of <h1>Govt Empowers Enforcement Officers to File Complaints Under FEMA, 1999, Section 16(1) via Notification No. 22/2000.</h1> The Central Government, under the powers granted by the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999, has authorized officers of the Directorate of Enforcement, at least at the rank of Assistant Director, to file complaints before the Adjudicating Authority. This authority is appointed under section 16(1) of the Act to conduct inquiries. This order, identified as S. O. 1157 (E), was issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, on December 26, 2000, and is formalized in Notification No. 22/2000.
