Initially approved for two years starting from the assessment year 1997-98, the project received an extension for two more years beginning in 1999-2000. The National Committee, satisfied with the project's execution, recommended further extension for three years starting from the assessment year 2001-2002, with an amended project cost of ten lakhs. The government has approved this extension under the specified conditions.
