of <h1>India's Finance Ministry Amends Union Territory Tax Rate to 6% Effective July 18, 2022, per Notification No. 08/2022.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 08/2022 to amend Notification No. 3/2017-Union Territory Tax (Rate) dated June 28, 2017. This amendment, effective from July 18, 2022, changes the tax rate specified in the original notification. Specifically, in the table of the original notification, the entry in column (4) against S. No. 1 will be replaced with '6%'. This amendment follows recommendations from the Council and is executed under the authority granted by the Union Territory Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.
