of <h1>India Hikes Customs Duty on Imported Gold: Rates Now 11.85% and 12.5% Under Amended Notification No. 50/2017-Customs.</h1> The Central Government of India has amended Notification No. 50/2017-Customs to revise customs duty rates on imported gold. Effective from June 30, 2022, the duty rates have been increased: for S. No. 354, the rate is raised from 6.9% to 11.85%; for S. Nos. 356 and 357A, the rate is increased from 7.5% to 12.5%. These changes are made under the Customs Act, 1962, and the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, in the interest of public policy.
