Customs broker association membership requirement now mandates single-association enrollment and permits Board-granted compliance extensions. Brokers must enroll as members of the Customs Brokers' Association in each jurisdiction where they operate if a registered Association exists and is recognised; they may not enroll in more than one Association in the same jurisdiction. The Board is empowered to grant further time for compliance where an applicant, broker or designated institution demonstrates inability to comply within a prescribed period due to reasons beyond its control, provided other conditions are satisfied and the Board records reasons in writing.
