of <h1>Customs Notification 22/2022: New Officers Appointed for Audit Roles in Major Zones u/s 99A Powers.</h1> The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, under the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 22/2022-Customs (N.T.), appointing officers at the level of Commissioner of Customs and below, up to Assistant Commissioner/Deputy Commissioner, for zones overseeing audit functions. This notification, effective from its publication date, supersedes previous notifications No. 39/2018 and 40/2018, except for actions already undertaken. The appointed officers, stationed in Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, and Nhavasheva, are vested with powers under the Customs Act, 1962, to conduct audits as per section 99A.
