Bangalore Hospice Trust's Project for Terminally Ill Cancer Patients Gains 3-Year Extension Under Section 35AC of Income-tax Act

The Central Government has extended the eligibility of the Bangalore Hospice Trust's project under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. This project involves the construction, purchase of equipment, and furnishing of a 50-bed hospice for terminally ill cancer patients in Bangalore. Initially approved for three years starting from the assessment year 1997-98, the project has been recommended by the National Committee for an additional three-year period, beginning with the assessment year 2001-2002. The estimated cost of the project is INR 2.71 crore.
