of <h1>Amendment Clarifies Electronic Securities in International Financial Centres Not 'Electronic Mode' Under Companies Act.</h1> The Companies (Registration of Foreign Companies) Amendment Rules, 2021, issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, modifies the 2014 rules concerning the registration of foreign companies. Effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, the amendment introduces an explanation to clause (c) of sub-rule (1) of rule 2. It clarifies that electronic-based securities offerings, subscriptions, or listings in International Financial Services Centres under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, are not considered 'electronic mode' under clause (42) of section 2 of the Companies Act, 2013.
