of <h1>Central Government Designates Special Courts in Meghalaya and Andaman for Securities Law Cases.</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992, the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956, and the Depositories Act, 1996, has designated certain courts as Special Courts. This decision, made with the concurrence of the Chief Justices of the relevant High Courts, assigns the Court of District and Sessions Judge in Shillong as the Special Court for Meghalaya and the Court of Additional District and Session Judge in Port Blair as the Special Court for the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
