Initially recognized in 1997, the project includes medical treatment, medicines, food for needy patients, educational materials, uniforms, scholarships for needy students, and other social welfare activities. Following a recommendation from the National Committee, the project is specified for an additional three years starting from the assessment year 2000-2001. The estimated cost is seventy-four lakhs with a corpus fund of twenty-five lakhs.
