Initially imposed in 1996 due to findings that DBM was exported below normal value, causing material injury to the Indian industry, a review in 2000 concluded that no material injury was suffered during the investigation period. Consequently, the Central Government rescinded the previous notification imposing the duty, effectively discontinuing the anti-dumping measures on these imports. This decision was made under the powers of the Customs Tariff Act and associated rules.
