Parsaben Narandas Ramji Shah Society's Health Program under Section 35AC, Income-tax Act</h1> The Central Government has extended the eligibility of the Accelerated Programme by Smt. Parsaben Narandas Ramji Shah Society in Gujarat for tax exemption under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. This program, aimed at combating avoidable diseases and rehabilitating polio-affected patients from rural and urban slum areas, was initially recognized for three years starting in the assessment year 1996-97. Upon recommendation by the National Committee, the project is now specified for an additional three years from the assessment year 1999-2000, with an estimated cost of INR 179.3 lakhs.
