of <h1>Government Cancels SEZ Notification for Gems and Jewellery at Navi Mumbai Under SEZ Act 2005 and SEZ Rules 2006.</h1> The Central Government has rescinded Notification No. S.O. 2255(E) dated 3rd September 2009, concerning a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for gems and jewellery proposed by a private company at Ulwe Node, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. The proposal to de-notify the entire area of 33.5403 hectares was supported by the Maharashtra State Government and recommended by the Development Commissioner of SEEPZ-SEZ. This decision was made under the provisions of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, and the SEZ Rules 2006, with the rescission not affecting actions taken prior to this decision.
