Initially designated as an eligible project under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act for three years starting in 1994-95, it was extended for another three years from 1997-98. The project is now extended for an additional year, up to the assessment year 2000-2001, with an increased estimated cost of 250 lakh rupees, following a recommendation by the National Committee.
