of <h1>Amendment to SEBI Rules: New Methods for Serving Notices Include Fax, Email, and Courier u/r 7.</h1> The Central Government has amended the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Procedure for Holding Inquiry and Imposing Penalties by Adjudicating Officer) Rules, 1995. These amendments, effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, modify Rule 7 to include additional methods of serving notices. Notices can now be sent via fax, electronic mail, courier, or speed post with acknowledgment due. Notices sent by fax must indicate the number of pages, and those sent by email must be digitally signed. If notices cannot be affixed on the door, they must be published in two newspapers, one in English and one in a regional language.
