of <h1>India Amends Customs Duty: Excludes PCBA for Mobile Phones from Exemption; Compliance with 2017 Rules Required.</h1> The Indian Government, through the Ministry of Finance, has amended Notification No. 24/2005-Customs, effective from October 12, 2018. The amendment specifies that certain goods, excluding Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) for items like cellular mobile phones and various network equipment, are subject to customs duty exemptions. Importers must comply with the Customs (Imports of Goods at Concessional Rate of Duty) Rules 2017 and provide an undertaking not to use imported goods for manufacturing specified items. Non-compliance will result in the payment of duty differences.
