of <h1>Drug Rehab Programs in New Delhi Approved Under Section 35AC for Tax Benefits, Funding Increased to Rs. 100 Lakhs</h1> The Central Government has specified the awareness and rehabilitation programs for drug addicts and alcoholics conducted by a hospital in New Delhi as an eligible project under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially approved for three assessment years starting from 1993-94, the project has been extended for an additional three years beginning in the assessment year 1996-97. The project's estimated cost has been increased from Rs. 58.60 lakhs to Rs. 100 lakhs. The National Committee has confirmed the project's proper execution and recommended the extension.
